Do I need experience? Studio memberships are open to anyone, but they are self-directed, so it is helpful if you have prior experience in a studio.

What are the Membership options?
You can choose an unlimited access membership for a month (ideal if you will make it in more than 5 times in a month), or you can use a 5 or 10 pass punch card (valid for 4 months). Everything in life takes time. Art and working with clay is no different. We want you to have the time to freely create without watching the clock. Feeling stressed and making art don’t go together very well!

When can I come in to work?
You can come in to use the studio whenever we are open. You can find the typical open hours on the Contact Us page. However, we are often open for morning classes and we will be adding more open hours in 2018. Contact us with questions.

How do I get started?
People who have never been a student or a studio member at Studio 550 before are required to go through a short tour and run down about how the studio operates before getting started in the studio. It lasts about 10-20 minutes. After this, you are free to play! Please contact the studio with questions or to schedule your orientation.

Do open hours apply to the Stained Glass studio as well?
Due to space and time restrictions, this studio membership only applies to those working in the clay studio. Materials, firing, and personal tools are a la carte. Please see the Student Handbook for more details.

If you are interested in renting studio space or the movement studio to teach private lessons or group lessons, we rent space to teachers. Please call or email the studio for details.
